We've now had a chance to look back to imagery acquired prior to the catastrophic events. In the days leading up to convergence of flood waters between Julia Creek and Cloncurry there was widespread flooding to the south - from Winton 200km north to Hughenden and 400km west to Cloncurry.
We have also mapped up the BoM rainfall grids that show more than 600-800mm of rain fell over the area between Jan 27th and Feb 10th.
Imagery captured over the state on February 10th suggests that flooding has occurred over more than 100,000sqkm, potentially affecting more than 2000 land parcels on around 500 properties.
Our thoughts are with all those involved.
